The same name has been used for different route ideas, different alternatives, and different decisions.
The bottom line: the Northern Corridor has not always meant the same thing. These maps demonstrate how Green Springs residents could not be expected to know the location of the NC.

1996 route idea
This map helps show an earlier route concept. Notice it does not show the the route directly adjacent to residential homes. It should not be confused with the current proposal now affecting Green Springs.
2012 proposed route alternatives
This map shows that the Northern Corridor was discussed through multiple route concepts, and still not directly adjacent to residential homes.
2024 SEIS alternatives
This map shows alternatives considered during the 2024 Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement process. Notice how the neighborhoods were built out at this time BEFORE the BLM right of way approval.
Current route proposal
This is the current route map residents are using to understand how the proposal relates to Green Springs, nearby neighborhoods, and the surrounding area. Notice the number of stoplights and the slower speed limits through the residential neighborhoods, and how ineffective this is as an east/west transportation route.
